This is version 2.0 of Jahrains BSP Converter which does exactly what the title suggests; it extracts Halo .scenario_structure_bsp tags into a usable format.
You will need the .NET Framework V2.0 for this program which you can download from www.microsoft.com .
This updated version has new features that have been added and improved upon:
Features:
Perfect BSP extraction with correct face normals and UV's
Batch bitmap extraction
Correctly applied textures
Extraction to .obj files for use in multiple programs
How to use:
(This is based on using 3ds Max because the majority of people use it)
1. Open your BSP tag using the "File>Open..." menu.
2. If you wish to extract the bitmaps used for texturing click the "Convert Bitmaps" button. If you want to change the bitmap output format use the bitmap format dropdown list, but you must re-load the bsp for the change to take effect.
3. Click the "Convert Model" button and wait for the conversion to finish.
4. When the save dialog appears you must save it to the default location (the name can be changed however)
5.When the save has completed copy the filename text from the "Material Library" text box.
6. Open 3ds Max and go to import the obj file you saved earlier.
7. When the obj import dialog box appears make sure it looks like the "Importing the .obj file.jpg" included in the archive.
8. Paste the material library filename from earlier into the corresponding text box (as shown above) and click ok.
9. Run the "Material Fixing Script by FireScythe.ms" in max and it will make all the textures visible and the colour they are meant to be.
