How do I run the Halo CE dedicated server as a service
You might try using FireDaemon which is a utility that allows you to run just about any Win32 application as a service. http://www.firedaemon.com/. The advantage of runnig the server as a service is that you do not need to login to start the game.

Another way is to create a batch file that starts the Halo CE Dedicated server and then configure a Scheduled Task to start the Batch file. Configure the task to ONLY run when the computer is started.

You could also keep running the dedicated server as an application and just minimize the window. However keep in mind that the server is VERY CPU intensive and running any other programs while gamplay is in progress will most likely cause lag and warping to the players.
